Re: The build of SVT #3658
After the crap I went through with my front bumper, I really don;t want to deal with cheap bodywork anymore
But if you get it done and it looks good, I may consider it

Yes it's Euro Nothing too terribly exciting though....but once I get these babies put on the car all I need to complete the Euro exterior conversion is the triangle lights in the fenders. but I'm not sure I'm gonna do those.
So far my list of Euro parts includes:
Front bumper (Facelift bumper skin, Facelift foglights, smooth ST170 rubstrips, ST170 lower grille, SVT lip)
Facelift headlights, cracked and painted satin black
Hofele upper grille
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 wheels (made in the UK)
Euro rear bumper (two reverse lights, one LHD and one RHD, tinted with a clear/Panther Black mix, Euro rebar, no crash foam, Borla exhaust modified via the Sawzall to adjust length)
RS wing
ST170 center console
ST170 gauge cluster
Mystery new Euro stuff

Showing off my newest additions: Recaros, a Euro rear with tinted reverse lights, and Euro tails
The custom modification of my Borla exhaust, via a Sawzall
Interior:
And then a few other random picture opportunities...
Met up with Pat/5lick last night to go hang out at the local rice parade with some VW friends (it was really humid and my camera lens kept fogging up on me)
Makes me kinda miis my old rear bumper...
And installing Rob/RejectZX3's Borla exhaust he scored an AMAZING deal on up at Carlisle

Nice, but the Exhaust has something more to be desired IMO, needs mower euro hotness in that sector

Re: The build of SVT #3658
Yes the exhaust is hideous. But it's better than it sticking out 5+ inches
I have to figure something out for sure...I kinda want to go with a turndown tip. But on my list of things to do it pull the rear section of the exhaust off and paint it BBQ black to help hide it and the hangar that's right there

Just cut it shorter and leave it. You don't need exhuast hanging out. Looks very nice so far. Still looks like a monster truck though;)

Re: The build of SVT #3658
What kind of tip? A 6" diesel tip??
Thanks for the offer, but I hopefully won't need that tire...but I definitely don't need it for my 5th wheel. Apparently, there is a hole in it. I hate discount tire

Re: The build of SVT #3658
no its a tip off a cadillac CTS, STS or DTS I cant remember.. its not bad looking might need some polishing. I'll bring it to daytona idk if it will work for you or not. i might have another but i don't think this one is polished it came off an ford edge

Re: The build of SVT #3658
hmmm i have seen holes in wheels before so i wouldn't be surprised. so are you sending the wheel back now is that why your don't need the tire? I'll post a pic of the tire to show you the tread and brand just LMK if you ever want it as well as the tip... now that I'm looking at the tip it looks a little small inside diameter but if your ok with it I'll bring it with me so you can look at it for your self.

Re: The build of SVT #3658
Josh -- I had a cheap used tire mounted on it, and when I went to use it up in PA it was flat. Came home and went back to discount tire to tell them to dismount it and give me my money back....the guy took it back to dip it in their water tub. He was gone fore like 15-20 min and I was starting to get a bit sketched out, and sure enough when he came back he said "the tire is fine, but your rim has a pinhole in it" and I was like WTF you shady piece of shit! So yeah, there was a fresh-looking hammer mark on it, and air was slowly leaking out. I essentially said fuck you and left....there was no way to prove it so I didn;t even bother. I made sure I let him know I knew what he did though.
Yes Jeremy, it looks like a monster truck. That will change soon enough though

Re: The build of SVT #3658
No no, I bought the wheels from an FJ-er in Tampa (D.Rob) and used that particular one for 3000 miles...then when I got new tires I had a tire mounted to my 5th wheel and kept the one that now has a hole in it as a spare. So I know it was a good rim......and it sat in my closet for a year until I had a tire put on it so I had a full-size spare for the ride to and from Carlisle. But whatever, it happened and I'm moving on. a quick weld and the rim will be good as new again

Re: The build of SVT #3658
here is the tip. like i said the inside diameter might be too small to fit around your existing exhaust, and not the best looking could be polished up a bit sorry if pics look shitty used my phone

hmm doesn't look bad, any idea what the inlet diameter is? my exhaust is a 2.5 inch

Re: The build of SVT #3658
i doubt that it would fit... i could see if the exhaust guy could use that pipe expanding machine to stretch it out to that. i think it might be 2 inch at most. I'll take it to work and find out
