No he's crediting me the price of the grille so I can use that money to fix it and get it painted. They don't want to send me another because it will most likely get damaged again, so they are just refunding the money for the grille. Kinda sucks, but at least they are doing someting to help me out.

hmm looking at it i dont think any one would reallyy notice those imperfections once its installed.... just my opinion

They got torn apart, but no painting happened. Getting them apart was very time consuming, but it was fun. Thanks again for the help guys

We got them apart, but it wa cold and dew-ey outside so paint will come another day. Plus I have to get everything all cleaned up and prepped for paint, and I get to spend quality time getting all that glue stuff off the housings. Overall it was a good night

And then after work today I got to painting Also, I liked o2_designs's idea of Niteshading the turnsignals in his MACHs when he blacked out the ones he bought for the wagon, so I hit them with some niteshade. I purposely made them too dark so I can sand them down to a good level then polish them out.

All I have left to do is spot sand the trim bezel things and put another layer of paint on them, clean the rest of the silicone crap out of the housings and lenses, and give everything a good cleaning then seal em back up. I'm not really in a rush because I have a rough week of tests starting tomorrow, but they should be done by our big meet in Daytona in a few weeks

there's two spots where there's tiny runs i have to sand out once the paint fully cures, and then I'll buy one more can of satin black and put one final coat on them

Nope, not today

The bumper looked like complete s***, and the color was way off. Definitely not putting that on my car. And if the bumper looked like s***, words cannot describe how the sideskirt looked. Oh. My. God.

It was definitely a rushed paint job, it didn't even get primed. Just sprayed over all the rock chips and crap. I was pretty upset when I saw it. I though to myself "****ing seriously?!?!?! I've waited this long and this is the result?!?!?" Now I just have to wait more....oh well, it should be done before Carlisle **knock on wood**

Yup. I'm gonna let him try again. And if it doesn't look right AGAIN, that'll be two rounds of paint he wasted. Cause I'm not gonna pay for it then go somewhere else to pay to have it fixed. I shoulda just took the stuff, but oh well.

Were they really using the sawzaw to cut that? When I had my euro bumper I used a cutting wheel to trim.

We started with a sawzall, but wore a brand new blaze smooth in less than 6 inches of cutting

After that we used a cutting wheel, and went through 2 of those I think

This is a test fit to check clearences. Paint is off, tons of nicks, dimples and scratches and it about 2" more of crash bar needs to come off.
