I lived in the city for 5 years. I spent three years in Little Italy/Medical District, followed by a year in the Logan Square Neighborhood, and another year at the southern tip of Lincoln Park in Old Town.

I moved to Jacksonville 2 years ago for my wife's Toxicology Fellowship, and will likely be leaving soon to get back up north, closer to family.

I like Chicago, but having already lived in the city proper for awhile, I think I can say I've been there, done that. We may still end up back there, since a lot of the job prospects we have going right now are in the city. If we do end up there again, I think we're gonna try to live just outside the city proper in Oak Park, so that I can have a modest-sized yard and a garage.

My wife already has a solid job offer for a position in the Quad Cities (IA/IL border, pretty much straight west from Chicago), but it isn't quite as attractive of a job as some of the openings in Chicago (not so much in pay, but in the make-up of the job description).

Anyway, we're currently in decision-making mode, and will probably know withing the next few weeks where we're gonna end up.

Sorry for the long diatribe...I just kind of started rambling and got carried away.

I'm sure everyone is now WAAAAY more informed of my current situation than they'd prefer to be , so I apologize for that.... Laughing

So far, it's me, mary, kyle, madison, josh and possibly rob. Right now kyle and madison's house closing is on hold. They are trying to get it done so they can come to daytona. If they don't come, i'll have an opening. I'll keep you posted.
