Das Wagon Needs Build Thread Too
So I've been alot of work to the wagon lately. Most of it has been maintenance but I have been doing a few mods along the way as well.
I have to install a flocked radio bezel I got from Matt (cobrawannabe) and flat black paint vent rings this weekend. This last weekend I put in new energy suspension end links for the rear bar and cut the dead coils out of the stock rear wagon springs. The car sit much more level now. Its not as low was I want it, but it looks better then nothing. I also gave the engine a quick shot of gloss black spray paint as I never did it when I painted the car. (I'll get some pics of this later on) Lastly I re-installed the rack rails. I keep the cross members off as they need refinishing.

A few weeks ago I bought a set of 3 tires from a member on here for a killer deal. I've had wheels for this car for a almost a year now. This week I bought the 4th tire from my friend who works at a tire shop and he installed all 4 for me. I painted the inside of the wheels gloss black and the outside will get painted this weekend. When I got the tires home though I couldn't wait to mount them on the car and check them out.

Fitment is alomost perfect on the wheels. They could use just a little more offset, but they fit nicely. I may pick up my vagina and vut one more coil off the rear and one off the front to get it another inch lower.
So that is just the start, I'll have some more pictures this weekend once the wheels are painted.
For those who may have forgot, this is how the wagon came to us. 01 Street Edition Wagon.
First mod 5% tint on all rear windows.
Yes its my wifes car.
Next mod was hiding the yellow. It was rare yes, but it was shot and my wife hated it.

Re: Das Wagon Needs Build Thread Too
I got the wheels painted last night, bought some tuner lugs ans went ahead and mounted the bitches. I still need some center caps. I found some metal hole plugs in the right size online I just wanted to see if someone local stocks them. I also got the refinished vent rings in today.

The fitment on these are damn good IMO. They sit flush and the tire isn't stretched but has a nice curve on the side wall.

I also painted the inside black to cut down on the amount of blue.

So my wife and I agree it needs MOAR LOW. I'm going to take another dead coil out of each of the springs for now, but I need to get legit suspension on here. I'm going to start shopping for coils for this thing.

I just got back from pick n pull. Finally got the ABS rings for the drums, and then I found a set of OEM painted door moldings. They're red now, so I'll paint em and it will be tits.
If I get time, the srpings are getting hacked again this weekend.

Re: Das Wagon Needs Build Thread Too
So I haven't said anything because I didn't want to jinx myself....this weekend my stepson drove the car to work, while on his lunch run some guy backed into the front bumper. Not really all that bad, but it needed a new bumper. Turn out the guy wanted to keep it off insurance, so he said he'll pay me cash. So yall know I can paint right? New upgraded bumper coming soon.

Re: Das Wagon Needs Build Thread Too
A little update of the happenings from this weekend. Saturday I spent the day with Gerald putting exhaust on the car. It sounds good and isn't loud at all.
Sunday Nick and I test fitted the Koni-steins on the wagon. So We got the rear end stupid ass low. Looked great and we can make it work with a roll, pull, and lots of beer. The fronts didn't get that low. We got the front end lower, but not low. Now I have to figure out a way to get the front end lower so I can slam it. I went ahead and put the rear back to the cut stock springs, plus one more dead coil cut. The car currently sits at 23 3/4" on all four. (Fuck the Focus Lean). I also got a set of ZX3/ZX5 stock camber arms to put in place of the wagon ones. That should help out my camber and allow me to tuck the rear. The front I may cut the towers and weld an higher plate in place. Why? Becuase I can do that for about $50 vs spending $1000 on coils that get stupid low, plus I can keep a good amount of travel in the front strut that way.
SVT front bumper is here and may get painted this weekend. I got a new set of head lights for the car, so no more eyelids.

Re: Das Wagon Needs Build Thread Too
Owen, both! We got a new one for the wagon and then I got one that needs repair for the sedan.
I put it back on cause I liked it, but my wife wants it gone again so it will come off soon.

Rear end potential....

Now its def doable. I got the ZX3 camber arms and room to roll the fenders. The only reason I haven't jumped on it yet is due to the front end not going that low.
So this where it ended up

Re: Das Wagon Needs Build Thread Too
So after a few weeks of my wife driving on the Koni's up front she said to take them off She couldn't deal with the popping and rough ride any longer. So This is as low as the wagon is going to go for a while. Its ok, its sit pretty damn good as is.
Last weekend I painted the SVT front bumper finally. It came out really nice and I didn't have any issues for once. Today I put it on and polished it out. It looks hazy in the pics, but its not that bad in person. Only thing I have left to do is get the SVT fog light pigtails and plug in the lights. The blue wheels aren't on due to a tire blowing out and waiting for a replacement to come in.
