Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
the car is already gutted but unless the money was good, i don't see selling this thing just yet

I'm thinking about doing something like this for the flares. then either make them in fiberglass or CF. maybe even rubber

Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
i plan on it. like any shade tree mechanic, i saw it online and the guy made it look easy
but i figure if i screw up, i can just paint over it and start again. i just have to figure out a plan that works with the Focus body lines

Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
I've done rust and patina paints before. I've sold them for years as well. Never thought of using on a car but I like it. If you got any questions on how to do it, what products to use etc, drop me a message.

Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
i did some messing around with the car the other day and found the problem with the motor. a broken DSI lever. as far as i can tell, that is the entire reason this thing was parted out. im kinda glad i saved this one from getting scrapped for no good reason
i also found a CGI block local to me for a steal, ill be trying to get it this weekend

no bottom end power, anything below 6k is useless. it also doesnt switch between runners when it should

It sounds like you need a new IMRC Box. It's $187 plus shipping from Steve.
I am intermittently having the same problem because my controller box is going out. I've limped it along for a while now.

Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
its the DSI lever as far as i can tell, the cable that usually pops off is missing entirely. Kev(aka SaucyMuffin) offered me a whole intake mani for $50, so Ill pick it up and give it a shot
and about the CGI block, the guy listed it wrong. its just a stock block with an extra built motor to go with it. only problem is, the built motor threw a rod though the block

Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
so I decided that the best way to get this car together was to buy a parts car. while on the hunt for an SVT, I stumbled on this
paid the registration fees and went out to bid on it yesterday, won it for a ridiculously cheap price, and am going to pick it up later today
best part is this.....

Okay I would love to know if you'd like to sell or trade five spokes for those EAP wheels. Not to mention the interior of the car. I've got a 02' with Red. It'll look great with your bumpers.
No but seriously.. EAPs.. I'm interested. PM me.

Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
my brother and I hauled the car home today, it fired right up with a jump with NO check engine lights. this thing is better than i had hoped to find. the front bumper may be fixable, just about everything else SVTwise is still mint or close enough for me

I might have considered it, but my Dad called dibs on the wheels and tires for his SVT. hell, the tires are almost brand new

Btw.. the seats. Any plans for those.. would you like some pretty black/red SVT seats.. maybe a trade for those dirty black ones?

Travis, lots of people on here are not in FL
Mike, that's amazingly spectacular. I'm super jealous. You're set on your silver car now! And those Recaros better go into the silver one, they're sooooo comfy

he more than likely won't, he likes the EAP wheels too much. I have another set of them, but they are bent. I just realized, this makes 6 sets of wheels........ I may need some help....

Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
I'm not even sure if I'm going to do the swap yet. I may just sell the SVT fronts to make some money back off of this car. Having to run 17s all years is turning my off

You can still run 16's, and some 15's with the SVT front brakes.

Re: Ahuzen's 2002 SVT Build
I know, but 16s and 17s are about the same cost tirewise. It all just depends on if I want money or great brakes
