Re: The build of SVT #3658
On the back side get some fibermesh drywall joint tape and put the flexible putty over it. It will never let go at that point.

Re: The build of SVT #3658
I definitely did
I need to yank my endlinks out, I have a weird clunk/bounce and I think it's because they're so damn short. Other than that, holy shit I love driving my car again. Now all i need is to fix the AC and Josie will actually ride in my car again

LOL I know what you mean. My wife isn't looking forward to a 6 hour drive to LA with no AC. I may get it charged up before then.

No photographes until rust is taken care of, adjustable stuff is installed, smaller tires are put on, car is dumped, and car is aligned

Allplugs are different, nothing is even close to fitting.
In other news I just dropped Rob off and as I was headed up the onramp onto 95 to go home my shift linkage took a shit. 30 mile drive hom using only 4th gear? Gonna be fun when I have to get off the highway....

Re: The build of SVT #3658
Fender WAS pulled and flared. Tire is a low profile.
It's because I actually drive my car low.
Actually it's a cheap aftermarket fender and won't hold a roll/pull. It keeps sucking back in after I form it

Josh, get another OEM fender of any color and sticker bomb it until you get a silver one.

Re: The build of SVT #3658
Once that shit gets bent inward its never the same even on the stock fenders. It'll just keep doing it over and over. I can't even count how many times mine was bent inward. I could kick mine in with my foot then pull it right out it was so flimsy.

Re: The build of SVT #3658
Yeah.
I found a couple silver fenders listed on car-part.com in a local junkyard, gonna call tomorrow to see if they actually have them and how much they are (price is unlisted)
Probably going to just cave and buy new tires this week so I don't fuck up my new fender also.
I need a fender roller so I can roll my "new" one when I get it....can anybody help?

Re: The build of SVT #3658
70 bucks. Needs a little love, but it was 30 bucks cheaper than a new unpainted one from Steve and its already silver. Some time massaging it and some time buffing/polishing it and hopefully it will look good as new. Don't care if anybody could've gotten one cheaper. I live in Jax, this is the best fender I could find, and I'm fine with the price i paid.
Also got a new battery tray, as mine is cracked and sagging badly

Re: The build of SVT #3658
if it doesn't...who cares. It's not like the fender matches now
The fender is off a 2003 CD Silver wagon...so hopefully the silver is close. But like I said...if it doesn't match, whatever. It'll look a shitload better than the dull, dark, crushed fender does now

Meh. This place does nothing but ford/lincoln/mercury, and they pull the part for you...which was nice because I got it on my way to class and didn't have to lug tools with me, get dirty, or get sweaty.
And shipping a fender from Cali can't be cheap

Re: The build of SVT #3658
Crazy Rays does the same thing here with their cars, they basically go to auctions and if the car is cheap enough it gets bought and put in the yard. They just don't pull from Insurance Auto Auctions or Copart style auctions, I've seen their trucks at Manhiem before too.
Thats partially why Crazy Rays has some dope finds like that Merkur XR4ti a month ago.
