Blake I don't care what height you will run at everyday, but when you get these coils set them to the absolute low so we know just how low they go!

Re: Plans for Goldmember
Polished the passenger side headlight tonight....still not 100% pleased with the results. I'm not quite sure how to get it on par with the other headlight.
After 500 Grit.
After 800 Grit.
After 3000 Grit Wet-sand.
After Rubbing Compound.
Then took some PlastX to the headlight after that and did a side-by-side comparison.

Re: Plans for Goldmember
Karma. That headlight not polishing up is KARMA!!!!!
Start over and resand it. You really need to buy a 3M kit, and use the sandpaper on a drill. It'll do wonders and be faster

Re: Plans for Goldmember
I mean the headlight looks GREAT, but it's not as clear as the other lense is what I'm getting at.

Re: Plans for Goldmember
Yeah. But I got mine to where they were perfectly clear and had no remaining chips or scratches. Keep sanding! That lens is surprisingly thick, don't worry about doing too much sanding. I went beast mode on mine

Re: Plans for Goldmember
I might wetsand it a little longer with the 3000 Grit, and see what I can achieve.

Re: Plans for Goldmember
Took some ScratchX and No. 7 Rubbing Compound to the lense tonight. Made it a little better. To be honest, I'm happy with how it is. Yeah, it's still got FINITE scratches in the lense, but that's only if you look really close (no I don't want to see any of you assholes staring at my headlights at FR )

Stuff and maybe things.
Got my harnesses made up tonight thanks to parts Chris sent me! Only thing wired up right now is the high/low beams, and everything checks out and works fine.

Motor swap weekend is the 18-20 of this month.
Just called Steve and ordered new strut mounts and ball joint pinch bolts w/ nuts. Also ordering new Amsoil trans fluid.

Re: Plans for Goldmember
Got my stuff in the mail today from Steve. I received strut bearings...is that what I want when replacing them? I thought it was the piece that had the literal mounts on them that mount to the strut tower? I need to know before I call him back and make myself sound like a fool. Also dropped another $50 at Autozone today on some super oil-resistant high temp black RTV ($16), butt connectors to finish up the wiring on the headlights, and $28 on Autolite Iridium spark plugs.

Yeah those are the strut bearings. They sit in the hat and the top that bolts to the strut tower.

Re: Plans for Goldmember
Few pictures of what I got done today. Removed the header, cat, oil pan, and oil pickup from the old motor. Found out I need a new gasket to put the pickup on the new motor, so therefore I can't install that or the pan until tomorrow. Coming to help me this weekend is Chaney from FJ, Aku and I <3 My ZX3 from FF.

Motor is removed, rear coilovers are installed, trans is separated from the old motor as well as a bunch of other stuff. Plenty of work left for tomorrow. Will upload lots and lots of pictures after the weekend.

Re: Plans for Goldmember
Very tired. Motor is in, as well as coilovers. Car doesn't run yet...still need to figure out where a bunch of plugs go, install header and cat, and go to the junkyard and cut off the coil pack harness because one of the wires on mine broke off right at the base of the plug. I'll leave you with some pictures from the last 2 days.
^
No springs in the rear on the last two pictures. The tire was literally resting on the fender.
The next few pics are from today. I managed to eff up my camera, and dropped it so the screen doesn't show ANYTHING anymore. So that is why some of the pics aren't amazing.
There's more on my facebook too if anybody is interested.
Huge thanks to Kevin (Chaney), Brad (Aku), Brian (I <3 My ZX3), and Jimmy (jimbone) for helping me out this weekend. Much thanks guys!! Also thanks to Jen (focus311), Kyle (2KZX3), and Brad (klodkrawler05) for stopping by and hanging out.

Re: Plans for Goldmember
WTF why are the adjusters spun so far up?!?! The point of not running helpers is so you can spin the adjusters all the way down and be lower
and
please tell me you cleaned that shit and didn't install an engine in a dirty bay when you had months and months to get in there and clean it up really nice

Re: Plans for Goldmember
1. Those were just put there to give us an idea where it would sit, we'll go lower. For some reason the rears are bottomed out, but the car isn't sitting any lower than my FRPP kit did.
2. Yes, I got in there and scrubbed the piss out of it with paper towel and Simple Green while the engine was out
Oh, and this was the only useful purpose we found for the helper springs after they were removed.

lol.
You ned to cut the rear springs. At least one coil. Then you can use the adjusters to get it up to where you want it
