Just joined, My name is Jason. Currently living in Miami but spend a lot of time in Orlando as well. Speaking of Miami, anyone know of any good shops to take a turbo'd focus that has just crapped out? Thanks

check out southfloridaracing.com they might know of some shops, but mostly in the West Palm area/ north Broward. Might be some Miami guys with shop knowledge.

Pretty Sure it is the alternator and really hoping nothing else Yeah for all the street racing in south florida, hard to find any shops with much of a reputation.

If it's the alternator, that's no big deal. Pretty easy to change

Yeah the problem is no tools / time / or place to work on it in Miami.

So it turns out the alternator is good but the starter is bad. How exactly does that cause a car to stall and half of the electronics on to work and the car to stall when ever the rpms drop? blah i hate my car! I did notice that the positive battery terminal has split wires around the outside but the center is still good (of course i am going to replace) but still don't see how this could cause my problems.

Chances are, what you're experiencing is due to that cable. If the alrenator is working fine but the cable is messed up, it obviously won't charge the battery....so when you RPM drops the car gets less power and your electronics act up.

The car stalling after you push the clutch in and let the RPM drop is a common SVT problem, mine does it all the time if I have the AC on. Your starter is probably bad from having to restart your car so much

Yeah, going to try to get it over to Jim since he is the shit. Lets just say Tom and I are not seeing eye to eye after what he did to my car and the condition it was left in!

It seems like more and more people are having that experience with Tom....
