Forum Info & Rules

Hey there, welcome to Florida Focus. I figured I'd tell you a little about the site ... why it was made and how we (the staff) expect you (the users) to behave.

A couple nights back Josh (SVT3658) and I were hanging at the local rice parade and we found ourselves talking about forums and I realized that it shouldn't be too hard to get one up and running for all of the Florida crew. We pretty quickly decided that it needed to be done. So, within a week, this is what we've managed to throw together. We know there are a lot of people spread all over the state that love the Focus. Not only that, but different regions seem to have seperated themselves on the two mega-sites. We want to bring the whole state together ... North, South, Central and both coasts. A place for us to make mega-meets happen. A place for all of us to consolidate into a tighter knit group.

Since the foundation was laid, the site has grown beyond Florida and has embraced members from both of the other major Focus forums without discrimination. We are a group of like minded enthusiasts that can appreciate the various forms and stages of car modification.

Like any site however, there has to be rules or there will be anarchy. We should all be able to act like adults on here without getting too butt-hurt over the little stuff. So for now, the rules are going to be pretty relaxed. They will stay that way until we see the need to update them and add more.

Things you WON'T do:
- Attacking any particular race, gender, religion or sexual orientation.
- Flaming (posts made to deliberately incite or perpetuate a conflict or argument).
- Personal attacks on fellow members.
- Links that are deliberately meant to crash computers or provide an uninterruptable number of pop-up windows.
- Forum bombing (aka post whoring), making pointless posts.
- Discussion of illegal activities.
- Embedded images of pornography ... if you most post it, then include it as a link ONLY and include a *NSFW* warning in thread title. This rule has a zero tolerance in effect. If you violate this rule, you can expect to be banned immediately.

Things you WILL do:
- Respect forum moderators and administrators. It is a thankless job and cleaning up other peoples' messes is never fun.
- Be an adult, even if you aren't legally one.
- Think before you make a post. Common sense will serve you well.
- Respect our lack of swear filter. You will be banned before I bother setting one up. Don't use swear words in thread titles or go overboard with them in your posts. There is no cut and dry ruling on how much is too much. When you've reached the limit, you will be warned .. and then you will be banned if it continues.

The staff reserves the right to modify and/or delete posts and threads as we see fit. It is up to us what crosses the line and what reflects on this site in an undesirable way. We reserve the right to add/delete rules as we see fit. Your mileage may vary. All bow to the ban hammer.





Update 5/12/2011:

While we value your opinions and points of view on all things Focus related, due to recent events we have decided to take a firmer stand on our rules here on FloridaFocus. We will no longer be allowing flaming of fellow community members, sites, or vendors. Personal Attacks and Flaming have always been outlawed by the rules on here so this is no change in them, just a stricter enforcement of them. We have noticed a rise in negativity in how this forum is being viewed by the community and are working to change that so we can co-exist without all the drama and arguments. Repercussions for breaking the rules will remain the same and will follow in the same path as always. The staff reserves the right to modify and/or delete posts and threads as we see fit. It is up to us what crosses the line and what reflects on this site in an undesirable way. We reserve the right to add/delete rules as we see fit and will be enforcing it more strictly.
