Re: 2012 focus se sport
idk how good of a match up it would be..... imo the svt would win. could be wrong but dont think i am, the 2012 is lacking in the low end take off kinda sluggish, due to the electric throttle body, the dual clutch auto is too slow in between shifts. Plus it wieghs in @2980 for the hatch. zx5 svt is 2750 i believe. but would still be cool to see how it would turn out. btw nice focus powerstrokerfocus

Re: 2012 focus se sport
Where did you get it dyno'd at?
Josh, the SVT is a slouch off the line too unless you're willing to absolutely rape your clutch...but even then it's not quick from a dig

Re: 2012 focus se sport
Kyle Auto, manual either don't matter, Fords pcm still controls how much power/throttle position it wants you to have. But when the pcm learns your driving habits its a lot better. But still Gay imo.
Josh yes your svt is slow, phils svt was pretty quick off the line, but the auto in the 12 is trying to be a manual and stomping on it to launch it will be lagy at first the spinning tires........ Feels wired if you've never driven anything with a dual clutch, and imo the manual feels just like the old duratec....
Norcal that color is even better in person and out in the sun.

Re: 2012 focus se sport
I did the dyno run at tonys new shop out in Orange park
As far as the trans goes this is my first small car I've built two mustangs and one camaro I don't really like launching it over 2000 because it sounds like its going to explode, is that normal/ how hard can I launch?
I grew up with watkins glen road corse in my back yard so I'm no stranger to driving a stick and I've got about 13000 miles on the car now so I'm comfortable with it I just don't know how hard I can push it any advice would be appreciated.
Worst case scenario if I blow it up Im a Ford diesel tech so ill get paid to fix it up to 50,000 miles

Re: 2012 focus se sport
nope only 50........... and what do u mean by the pcm controls power... the 12 manual will launch at any rpm.......... i know there were some fags on the internet trying to say the auto had a launch limiter when the brake was held but its actually the pcm keeping the tranny from geting tore up

Re: 2012 focus se sport
the blue will just be a blue film on the bulb, and it will decrease the light output significantly. I had a pair of blue H! bulbs in my ST170 high beams way back when (they came in the headlights, not my choice). They were completely useless

Re: 2012 focus se sport
the silver stars will give it some color not in the light output but when looking at the headlamp itself (not straight on of course lol).

Silverstars (or silver hawks now I think) are the shit.

Re: 2012 focus se sport
Chris, they're still Silverstars.
OP, I would suggest Silverstar ZXEs. I sell them like crazy, and they have KILLER light output and patterns. they're not cheap, but they're worth their weight in gold.

Re: 2012 focus se sport
had a good day with the 12 today first i decided i didnt like the chrome fog lights so i spent about 40 minutes getting them out...... and im a ford tech........ not an easy job but it can be done on the ground. decided to match them to the grill
second mod today was to build to brackets for some rally style lights still have to tweak them a little bit but should be done with them before the sonic meet tomorrow, let me know what u guys think, and by the way ive decided to do the car as a rally style car
