Moving to Palm Beach, Lake Park Area
Hey gang,
Been a New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA resident for pretty much the majority of my life. An opportunity presented itself to learn some new things within my company and also make some more money by taking a position in Florida. Well, I am taking it and have to be down there sometime between August 1st and August 15th. I am looking between West Palm Beach (Fun) and Port St Lucie (Cheaper homes). Also looking here since my position requires me on the road pretty much 4 days a week and covering the whole state! A lot of business in Miami so I need to be by I-95 and Florida Turnpike. I am getting a car allowance so I will be on the road probably in something else than my focus most of the time. But keep an eye out, because it's not gonna stay parked and will see all of Florida sooner or later.

Any advice on certain areas to stay? Would like to be close to the middle of eastern seaboard. Just think Melbourne, my original location of choice, is just too far from Miami. Miami is the majority of where my action will be.

Welcome to Florida Focus! I applaud you for jumping at the opportunity to move with your job and experience new scenery, stuff, and things. Florida is a pretty legit place to live.
I grew up on the west coast of FL and now reside in Orlando, so I wont be much help with advice for your area. I'll wait for Rob and others to chime in.

Welcome to the penis of the US and A!
WPB is a nicer, subberbish type area. Lots of $$ generally. Some areas are rougher by the beach. Its also retirement central (most of FL is anyways).
A coworker rented a place near the beach/intracostal off of Lantana (iirc) with a roommate for about $800/month each person (utilities included). Not sure what your price range is.
Miami sucks. I hate it. If it wasnt for this thesis opportunity, I wouldnt be here.

Re: Moving to Palm Beach, Lake Park Area
Thanks gang. I was looking to buy north of West Palm Beach since places like Jupiter and Port St Lucies have extremely nice holmes for such low costs! Its insane. Both would work for commute purposes, just have the feeling being 29 and single, couldnt crush it out at the night life lol.
But I am also willing to drive 20-30 minutes to have fun at night. Basically looking for safe drug free area with a low market on homes, and an easy turnpike commute to Miami. I will be down there probably August 1st.

Anyone know any good realestate agents in West Palm Beach, Jupiter, or Port St Lucie?

Re: Moving to Palm Beach, Lake Park Area
She cute haha...i heard night life sucks there. But homes are cheap.....i kind of like peace and quiet with a local bar or two. But then again I dont want to be bored other nights. Plus I want to buy...so cheap and easy Port St Lucie, or more expensive West Palm Beach or Jupiter where the market will come back faster.

So if I get my HOA approved....you will all see me in the West Palm, North Palm, and Palm Beach area. Put a deposit down on renting a condo in Bay Reach.
