My Crapbox.

Well .. I had an '04 Chevy S-10 4x4 when I met and started dating Christina. She had just had Cian ... and it is no fun trying to carry her and the baby around in an extracab midsize pickup. So I made the call and we bought something that at least had a real back seat. I came home with a 2006 ZX3 SE ... CD Silver ... 5spd ... your basic Focus in every way imaginable. It hit the road running ... over 400 miles in thbe first weekend ... and now sits at 77k. Within a couple weeks, I made it down to a CFL meet and then found the Jax Crew and the rest is history.

First mod was to debadge the arse. Did that at Dan's. After that I bought a set of used 17" Motegi wheels from Rickter and threw them on, chopped down the antenna, got the windows tinted, and finally painted the grill and headlights:






Threw on some BisquitNinja sway clamps and Rickters old stock rear bar just before a trip to the Tail of the Dragon:

I bent the hell out of one of the Motegis, thanks to a hidden rain-filled pothole. Replaced them for a while with some 17" RSL ebay specials. I also had a couple incidents with other vehicles coming in contact with my front bumper ... :


I traded Joe my 17s for his stock steelies. I never really liked those wheels much and had a vision for where I want to take my car now. I also dropped the car a bit finally, on Josh's old stock SVT setup. I also removed the rear wiper and replaced the headliner. While I had the headliner out I also painted the A and C pillars, just have to finish the B's. Pictures Coming Soon.

My future plans include:
- Shaving the antenna.
- Shaving the front bumper.
- Tilt/Telescoping steering column.
- Polished shifter w/ custom shifter knob.
- Mooneye wheel covers
- Center console with no armrest.
- Intake/Header/Exhaust/Tune
- Torsen/Flywheel/Stg2 Clutch/4.06
- ST Grill/SVT Sideskirts/SVT Rear Bumper
- Custom paint.
- Redo the headliner.
- Car PC/Amp/Sub

Oh nice, so you did paint the headlights.

I updated all the pics so they aren't all so small. And added some more. Still have a few to add, have to get them off the camera.

Rob I still think you should find one Motegi that isn't bent and put them back on your car...or give me the 3 and I'll find replacement and put them on my car lol

I would love to find one and go back to them .... but I have yet to see one for sale anywhere.

I still have all four at my dads place.

Put up a WTB ad on the Jet or FF, you never know....

Not yet, didn't get them put back on the car until about 7:30. Plan on bathing the car this coming weekend and getting a couple new pics of it. Need to get a shot of the headline/rear wiper delete/the new suspension and whatnot. heh

Bought a couple things in the past couple weeks...

Got a set of Zenn lowering springs, 2" drop, $80 shipped. Just couldn't pass them up, if they suck, I will sell them and keep the SVT setup I have now.

Am going to be ordering a set of FRPP dampers to go with them as soon as the check I am waiting on shows up.

I also bought a set of blacked out side markers.


So, they will be going on asap, and as soon as the dampers get here, the suspension will be on followed by an alignment. And then ... pictures.

Dampers are ordered from Steve @ Tousley. 3-4 days!!!

which ones did you get?

M-1800-ZX3B ... FRPP Dampers for '06-'07 cars. Pairing them with Zenn (ebay) 2" drop springs.

Also bought some endlinks and bushings for my SVT rear sway, will put it on when I do the suspension.

Now I am looking for somebody that repairs wheels. I need to fix a bend in one of my Motegi 17's and then the car will make me a little happier.

Actually .. can't find one.

It pretty much consists of trimming some material from the top of the lip (unseen when installed) ... cutting some slits along the mounting surface to ease tension in the surface, it will bend/bow if you dont ... and you have to trim the ends down to line up with the fenderwells.

And a bunch of self tapping screws.

Nah, the price never sat right with me for what they were. heh. I plan on finding another Motegi to replace my bent one and refinish the ones I already have so they look new. I really liked the way the car looked when on them before.

Four good mooneyes are about the same price as the low end of one of the Motegi's new. So it's about a draw.

oh i gotcha. the Motegis did look good.

I like the latter wheels better as well

The problem I have with most black wheels is that you can't even tell they're there half the time.

And those ebay wheels were like ET20, they poked out FAR

They (the EBay wheels) were bad, I NEVER liked them, but needed a set of wheels, knew those were available ... made it happen.

Yeah, car sat really high stock, I swear the '06+ cars sit highe than the '00-'05 cars. Also had monster body roll, the height in the beach pic and that auto-x pic is the same. Heh.

In the auto-x pic, My left hand is on the steering wheel, towards the right side of my body. Am diving into a right hander there at Gainesville Raceway's road course.

Just a friendly reminder that this car is ... DEAD! Heh.
