Yeah a lot of people are weirded out by the hood. I like it, and its Function > Form. When you see how much heat soak is pouring out of there its amazing.
Thanks Owen. It will look even better with the SVT front bumper.

it's going to look SOOOO good with an SVT front!
Just my personal preference, but I think it would look a lot better with red tails, or maybe much less tinting.

Yeah the tails need to be redone and thats on my list. I'm going to try stripping the tint off and doing a much lighter shade.

So I may have a super sexy part being added to my car soon. If things work out correctly I shall have more sexy.
List of to do's before FSW:
1. SVT front bumper
2. Secret Sexy
3. Tails
4. Get AC charged

Nice job Chris, I myself have been meaning to take the wagon lights off and paint them black, or the color of the car.

Re: NorCal's I hope I can go to FR11 and meet some cool turtles build thread
So as most of you know I had a few secret mods I did right before the show this last weekend.
New CF hood.

So here's the shitty happening this weekend. I put some tape on the hood for the drive down, but when I pulled the tape off before the show, the clear came with it. The extreme heat from the drive down baked the clear onto the tape. So I went to the store got some sandpaper and some rattle can clear and did a very quick fix on it. Later on the hood will be stripped again and shot with more clear.
The other mod I got done the day before I left was black carpet! Finally found a nice carpet to replace my extremely used carpet. The only thing left to be replaced inside the car now is the seats. Other than that I love the interior.
A few more pics...

I got tons of complaments on my engine bay. It really made all the hard work worth it.

Thanks guys. The hood is going to get redone better this time. It had some swrils from my shitty polish job. I talked to Todd (misterjohson) and he's going to help me polish it the next time.
I will be starting my SVT bumper soon as well.

And you got a PM coming, I got something to ask about the BBQ paint on the header shield.

Re: NorCal's I hope I can go to FR11 and meet some cool turtles build thread
So I haven't had anytime to start work on the SVT bumper and I have just decided to add it to my list winter to do's. I've spent the last three weekends working on my wife's wagon. At least now its ready for its first meet and cruise. After I get the wheels on later this week, I'll start its own build thread.
I also was just looking through a bunch of H2Oi pics and decided I need to step up my game. The next few weeks I'm going to really figure out where to go this winter. So far this is what I know I'm doing...
Vortex battery box
more tuckage in the bay
ZX2 cams
cleaned up trunk. Wood flooring or something better
lows
and maybe wheels

Need advice please...
So if I don't end up getting new wheels, I may just refinish mine. Any ideas on what to do? I could strip the paint off and polish the lips, then re paint the spokes.

Re: NorCal's I hope I can go to FR11 and meet some cool turtles build thread
So any suggestions on what color to paint the transmission? Do you guys think white would be overkill? I want to do something I can brush, so I don't make a huge mess in there.
Next week, I think I'm going to be working on relocating the battery and hooking up the sub/amp.

I feel like a white tranny would be a bitch to keep clean. I'd probly go with black myself if I were to paint a tranny.

I know the white would be a bitch, but black may be to plain for me. I was leaning towards hammered charcoal.
I will be talking to Nick next week about the trip. My wife and I have some details to work out if we can go.

Ken Appell says "baller on a budget"
Lets get the mother loving party started. I finally got down to business and started working on one of my many project this winter. I put my $10 plastic welder to work this afternoon and got the SVT bumper fixed.
The holes from the plate that will never be back on this bumper.
The biggest hole with a crack welded.
The smaller crack and holes welded.
The bigger crack I used wire mesh first. I heated it up then pushed it into the melting plastic of the bumper. Then I plastic welded over the top of it. Its strong as hell.
Then I flipped over the bumper and V notched the cracks with my new Dremel-alike tool.
Then I pulled out the DA and went to town with some 100 grit.
Thats how she sits right now. I think I'm getting some SEM bumper repair this weekend from a friend, if so I'll fill it. I also got the pigtail to the SVT amp now, so I'm going to try and build my harness for that this weekend. I got the box half ass installed in the trunk already.

Super easy. Holmes told about it.
http://www.harborfreight.com/plastic-welding-kit-80-watt-iron-67102.html
On big cracks, you want to use the mesh provided in the kit. I Cut the mesh laid it on the crack then used a torch to melt the mesh into the plastic. After then used the plastic strips in the kit to cover over the mesh.

I was thinking of doing a strap and leaving it behind the lower grill until needed.

Chris are you able to switch to a newer '05-'07 setup for the PS? That's why I'm not worried about it with my '07.
As far as the Coolant Tank, the shop and I found a few possibilities they've used with VW's that they hide behind the dash.
