The Borbet Type C's

Post by HaveBlue83 on 2011-06-12, 9:54 am

they are:
16x7.5
205/45 R (slight stretch)
205/40 F (no stretch)

I have TONS of room for moar low. Fender-Ground heights are:
23" - F
23.4" - R

I can EASILY do 22'' F & 22.5" R with this setup.

I am thinking of getting 45 series in the front. not sure what the final tire size will be, but the helpers in the front are coming out so I can see what I am working with. I have about an inch i can go lower in the front after helper removal, and over an inch in the back right now. I can't slam it for long, but i GOTTA get a pic or roll to a show like this once just to do it.

I want a picture of my car as low as the Industrialist. I WILL have pictures of this. His car is my goal. I will get there, even if I can't roll hard all the time.

no, I'm gonna drop it down to fit the wheels n tires properly, but first I have to remove the helpers.

the wheels came with different size tires. i just got em yesterday and I don't have "tire money" right now, so I am running what on em.

I would LOVE to roll around low low but the bilsteins won't be happy. I want to see how it looks slammed. I'm not gonna run around like a slammed fanboy or anything. 23'' area is gonna have to be my normal height for shock safety.

they are all yokohama's, A520 in front, A539 in the rear.

I will no run the OZ's for normal use. hell no. I can put them on any time I want to Jason. for the same reasons you don't run your red track wheels daily.

LOL @ me having a set other than my OZ's on the car.

LOL @ me having a set other than my OZ's on the car.

The reason I don't run my red track wheels daily is not because of the wheels, it's because of the tires. They are a dedicated autocross setup and too many heat cycles on the tire will kill its grip no matter how much tread depth is there. And when it comes to autocross you need all the grip you can get.

Are you saying that you will start autocrossing regularly and using the OZs for your autocross setup? Wink

I'm saying I'm not running Azenis all the time, or i will be replacing them every 6 months. I got new rears to match the fronts. Even if i had BFG street tires on the OZ's I don't want to run them daily. If I bend an OZ i will be beside myself, and NO ONE on here will be paying for repair or replacement. I am a wheel bender because I drive HARD on backroads, and potholes/uneven tarmac live there.

^^^^been saying this since i GOT them, but ppl are amazed that I don't want to use them every day.

I would like to auto-X more, but that will not happen right now. Love it, don't have the cash/time for brakes/tires/dedication to the sport.

Congratulations.

Enjoy your time "show-dropping" the car. Don't be a pussy, run it full dump year round like MI, NH, and FL does. And if you really want to prove you're a badass, get smaller OD tires when you buy winter tires so you're lower in the winter

I could go into a long discussion on how it doesn't take much cash or time for brakes or tires or dedication to enjoy autocross. Wink

And you wanted the K1s, but they already had a few bends on them when I first got them. There's no way they would have lasted on your car if you are THAT rough on your wheels.

so its run the OZ's and everyone loves me, or run the borbets and lower it and I get mad hate? i never said I wanted to be a badass. isn't the stance all about proper tire/wheel/fender fitment? damn guys.

I think I'll take the IDGAF option, since it is my vehicle. I feel like I'm on focaljet in 2009 again Rolling Eyes

once again, I am now taking donations for the bilstein repair and OZ repair fund when i crack a wheel or blow a shock from rolling slammed 100% or running OZ's 100%.

i love u all!

Laughing

It's your car, do what you want, we're just an opinionated bunch. I've done what I wanted to my car even when people told me I shouldn't. It's my car and I'll enjoy it how I want. That doesn't mean I don't like to hear people's differing opinions on it.

That said, I will admit the black Borbets do look good giving a murdered out theme to your car. And I normally hate black wheels.

oh, I guess i have to take back my "i wanna be xx" low" comment. I just want to minimize wheel gap.

I am trying to stance the car properly. the main enemy is Wheel Gap. I got a lil fanboi with my "wanna be super low" comments.

I am now 22 1/2" up front, 23 1/8'' in the rear. here's what that looks like:

(i have a lil gap in the front but thats cause of the 40's. i would RATHER do 45's instead of drop it more. its raining so no more picts of it settled for now

i am really liking 45's on the 16's with 7.5 wheels. a lot.

Looks a little better now, I think with a 45 series in the front it would look perfect. Along with a light coat of tire shine, because those dull grey tires stick out on all that black.

45's are planned.

and these are just the beater wheels. lol. when i get a chance I will get some 45's on the fronts and fix the "small wheel syndrome with gap" issue thats goin on.

car will prolly be chillin' in the garage for awhile now. I have no extra money and the talon is next on the list when i DO get fun money to throw around.
