yeah it was noticeable but i plan on yanking it out already, it hasnt been in all that long, right before i noticed the motor tickin, so im going to slowly start puttin her back to stock so i can get some kind of $ out of her when i go for the next ride.

since u said there's a tickin, it could more than likely be an exhaust leak. I've got a tickin too and thats what mine is.

tickng can be from exhaust (very plausible, double check all bolts) or valve noise due to wear on the valve stems, buckets, or cam lobe(s).

Good luck ted! but a new used engine could be ~$450....

I think if you really wanted to and asked really nicely the locals with tools and a garage would help out.

I don't have the most extensive tool collection in the world, but I bet I have enough to swap an engine (minus the cherry picker, but hell Harbor Freight sells them for ~100 bucks)

If you ever need any help, post up a thread. I am more than willing to come help do just about anything as long as I have that weekend free, and I'll throw tools in my trunk and bring them. I'm slowly doing more and more work on my SVT as it gets older (just about 199k miles) so I'm comfortable with doing more on a car.

And you don't need a garage to do work, we did an SVT brake swap on Owen's sedan in his paver driveway last week. If shade is a necessity, all you need is a pop-up canopy tent thing, and I have one of those Wink

You can swap a Focus engine with a hand full of sockets and wrenches. If you've ever dropped the front subframe you can swap a engine. Really I think thats the hardest part.

And I'm always down to come supply the brute force needed for the stubborn parts. I gots a BIG hammer!

I second the subframe being the hardest part, its not so bad if you have the help, especially if ur doing it on the ground
